Welcome to my blog.

The purpose of this blog is for a practice exercise for EDM510.

Hello fellow bloggers,

Here we are. Another week, another assignment. This week I would like to talk about blogging in elementary classroom. What are some ideas to integrate blogging in your classroom?

Happy blogging!

  1. Hi Amy,
One way to integrate blogging would be to have a discussion after teaching a lesson. Have the students contribute their ideas about the lesson. They would have to respond to each other and to the teacher. This could help some struggling students who may see the lesson in a different way to help it click by reading and responding to other students.

  2. Amy,
I agree with Marianne. That sounds like a great idea to get the students contributing. Students could also use their blog for periodic book reports or reviews. Maybe the students could use it for different lessons, such as weather report, or following a recipe, etc.

  3. I think it could be used as an icebreaker. For the beginning of the year have students post what they did during the summer. You could also have them post what they are nervous about or excited about this year. I also like the idea to contribute after a lesson.

  5. If I taught an older elementary grade, I would use blogs as reading journals. Students could create posts summarizing, outlining, or commenting on whatever we are reading as a class or individuals. Then, they could comment on a peer's blog post. Blogs could also be useful to document group work on projects.
